Barcamp Bangkok 2

I should write this blog since yesterday, but I was, actually I, @bact and @thanr,very busy and tired with taking care @sugree. So this is a quick summary of Barcamp Bangkok 2.

This event is the 4th Barcamp in Thailand, Barcamp Bangkok 1 was expected about 50 people attended and we got 200+ people. In Barcamp Bangkok 2, it was 486 registrants, but only 279 people showed up. Fortunately 121 walk-in campers came and raise the total number of campers to 400. Well, the number of campers is not an indicator of success.

An amazing thing that impress me is the number of presentation in the camp. We provided 8 rooms, all presentation ran from 11am – 6pm, 25 minutes for each session, therefore 176 presentations were presented and that’s mean it’s 44% of total campers can spread their ideas, words, knowledges! In point-of-view of co-organiser, that’s a huge success!

Thanks to everybody who is the part of Barcamp, EVERYBODY. Without you guys, we can’t reach this success together. Thanks for all sponsors for supporting this community-driven event, your help drive us forward to the next level of new culture.

Barcamp Bangkok 3 is coming anyway, I’m thinking about another kind-of-barcamp event that more fun and OVERNIGHT. I will announce it again when it is solid.

  1. i have been to several bar camps in the region and i have to say this one is the most amazing. thank you bkk ppl. see you guys soon at the next event

  2. imho, BarCamp Bangkok 3 or 4, say after we can successfully do the overnight camp, should targeted to be the last one by the current core team, so new fresh ideas can arise.

  3. If you look at each session, there’re many sessions that have the same presenter. But the good sign is we have a lot of discussion sessions.:)
