Chiang Mai streets view – On Web!

Mapjack.com - Chaingmai
Google Streets View has been launch a year ago with a cool idea that let the people can browse around the google maps with the additional view, street view. The google street view is cool, but not coolest, because the street view photos quality are poor and distorted during the photo merging stage (it’s a computer’s fault).

I always jealous on US residents who can use that awesome feature, but it the jealous has ended, since Mapjack, a Google Street View like-like has launch with Chiang Mai, a central city of northern of Thailand, stree view. With a better quality over google street view plus photos a toolbar which allow you to increase the brightness, sharpness and etc. this can be the coolest! Try virtual street walk around Chiang Mai at http://www.mapjack.com.

Hey, Mapjack, watch your back! Google is interesting in you!

  1. I’ve been to Chiang Mai so “walking” through the streets again via mapjack was very sentimental! Quality of pictures is fantastic – they look slightly saturated but that’s a good thing compared to Google’s rather colour-drained Street View.

    Talking of which….

Google’s own employees staged a mock fight when the Google Van passed their headquarters. Check it out here: Google Mock Street Fight. This shows Googlers (employees of Google) deliberately acknowledging the Google Van as it went by. Made me laugh, but also is it right to do this kind of thing?
